Edna Doss Schlett

Edna Doss Schlett, 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was born on October 17, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of John and Sophie (Bauer) Schneider. She married James R. Doss on October 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1975. On August 15, 1995 she married Roland W. Schlett and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2000. Edna was a 1939 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo. She worked for AP Parts Corporation in Toledo; Stinnetts Pontiac in Sarasota, Florida; Fuller Brush Company in Toledo; and retiring in 1986 from Standard Products in Port Clinton. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton where she was also a member of the Altar-Rosary Society; member of the Port Clinton Elks Ladies Auxiliary; and a former member of the Mother's Club-CCL. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter: Kathleen (Christopher) Gorny, Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren: James Jadwisiak, Jeffrey (Chrissy) Jadwisiak, John Jadwisiak, Michael (Rosa) Jadwisiak, Robert (Jamie) Jadwisiak, Ashley (Josh) Hurand, Jon McLaren, Kirsten McLaren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her daughter, Barbara M. McLaren; great-granddaughter, Addison Jadwisiak; and sisters: Frances Shirley, Mary Lang, Sophie Podgorski, Justina Wilson, Freida Florkowski, and Gloria Creemer. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 11:30am until 12:30pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Prayers will begin at 12:30pm at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or to Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus.
