Edith J. Damschroder Bahnsen, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, and formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Orchard Villa in Oregon. She was born in Oak Harbor on June 1, 1921, a daughter of Charles & Emma (Herring) Hengvoss. Edith was employed in the accounting department of the Toledo Blade for 30 years, retiring in 1986. On January 21, 1939, she married Dale Damschroder, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1986. Edith married Clifford Bahnsen on January 30, 1999, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2001. She was a long time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, where she was active in the Women's Guild. Edith is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judie Damschroder, Toledo, Ohio; step daughter, Jennifer Bahnsen, Minnesota; step-son, David Bahnsen, California; nephew, Roger (Janet) Damschroder, Oak Harbor; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Warren Damschroder; and sisters, Dorothy Bahnsen and Clara Orman. Friends may call from 2-9 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-5 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home, with interment in Salem Township Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
