Edgar C. Maggard

Edgar C. Maggard, 68, of Marblehead, Ohio and formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on January 21, 1941 in Leslie County, Kentucky, the son of the late Walton and Mae (Fields) Maggard. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an engineer for Eagle Picher, formerly known as Cincinnati Industrial Machinery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then went to work at Thyssen-Krupp in Fostoria, Ohio until his retirement in 2003. He was also a self employed charter captain known as "Captain Ed" aboard his boat "Miss Behavin". His passion in life was being out on the lake fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and working on small engines. Survivors include his wife: Margaret (Kennedy) whom he married on June 22, 2002; former wife: Micela (Sandoval) who is the mother of his children: Martin (Kathy) Maggard, Edmond, Oklahoma; David Maggard, Oklahoma; Fredrich (Jo) Maggard, Pensacola, Florida; Robert (Kelli) Maggard, Edmond, Florida; and daughter: Robin (Warren) Curtis, Clay City, Kentucky. Stepdaughters: Amy (Matthew) Weidel, Toledo, Ohio; Melissa (Jim) Woodruff, Waterford, Michigan; Renee (Aaron) Miller, Toledo, Ohio; Robin (John) Dierksheide, Rising Sun, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren; and sisters: Judy (Tom) Miller, Cincinnati, Ohio and Connie Bunch, Wilmington, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead Ohio, on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 12:00-3:00 PM where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM with Pastor Darrell Gant officiating. Burial will follow in Sackett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice.
