Earl Thomas Taylor, 84 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, December 19, 2022 at his home under Hospice Care surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1938 in Dante, VA to the late Thomas and Antha (Cook) Taylor. On June 29, 1957 he married the former Marietta “Mary” Bolyard and she survives. Earl retired as a tool & die machinist for the former Kelsey Hays Manufacturing Plant in Fremont. He also served the Village of Oak Harbor as a Police Officer for 20 years. Earl had a passion for the Lord and was a minister for 62 years. He lead the congregation at Church of God of Prophecy, Port Clinton, OH for many years. Earl loved to spoil his grandchildren. He also had a passion for working on cars and collecting model cars.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Mary of Oak Harbor; children: Gary (Sandy) Taylor of Port Clinton, Becky Barnett, Kate Taylor, and Loretta Taylor all of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Misty (Phil), Cody (Renee), Jena (Kevin), Noah, Austin, Garrison, Bella, Tom, Mike, TJ, Seth, Nick, & Randy; great grandchildren: Taylor, Mason, Olivia, Hudson, Paxton, Lincoln, Eileen, Henry, & Izabelle; great-great grandchildren: Kellen & Bently; brothers: Roy (Pat) Taylor of Richmond, VA, Carl Taylor of Oak Harbor, Roger (Brenda) Taylor of Colonial Heights, VA; sister: Virginia (Claude “Ace”) Ball of Victoria, VA; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother Garland Taylor, sister-in-law Sandy Taylor, son- in-law Scott Barnett, daughter-in-law Pam Taylor, and sister-in-law Debbie Taylor.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be given to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Diabetes Association.
