Duane Matthew Mcintire

Duane "Mac" McIntire, 74 of Mentor and Marblehead, died Friday April 4, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. He was born March 8, 1934 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the son of Lee and Myrtle McIntire. Duane founded D.M. Machine Company in Willoughby which he owned and operated for 35 years. He also owned and operated an industrial complex in Willoughby. He served his country in the National Guard. Duane was an active member of the Catholic Church and the Nor' Easter Club. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, especially on Lake Erie. He traveled extensively to Europe, the Caribbean and Florida with his wife Jane. Surviving are Duane's wife Jane (Richey); sons Mike (Sharon) of Chesterland and Dennis of Eastlake; daughters Lisa Beech (Ron) of Mentor and Lori McIntire (Scott Rittenberry) of Mentor; his ten grandchildren Michael, Jr., Heather, Kelsey, Angelle, Brittany, Bailey, Jake, Zak, Nicholas and Whitney; and a brother Dean McIntire of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held 11 am Friday April 18, 2008 at St. Noel Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Catholic Charities, 8 North Street, Painesville, Ohio 44077 or The Hospice of Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060.
