Dotty Warrick

Dorothy A. "Dotty" Warrick, 79, passed away Friday October 16, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, after a fierce and courageous five month battle with cancer. She was born September 16, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Col. Max M. and Dorothy C. Fischer. Dotty was Co-Valedictorian of the Port Clinton High School class of 1954, and she has served as Class Treasurer for the last 61 years. She graduated in 1958 from Denison University with a B.A. in Economics, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and developed her lifelong love of Bridge. Dotty was a long-time member of P.E.O., Port Clinton Literary and Social Club, the Port Clinton Yacht Club and St. John Lutheran Church. She was an accomplished Duplicate Bridge Player, achieving ACBL Silver Life Master rank in 2000, for which she was very thrilled. She was active in both the Toledo and Sandusky Duplicate Bridge leagues, serving in many board positions over the years. Dotty was well known for her extensive Christmas ornament collection and her innumerable Christmas trees, and was proud to be a charter member of the Hallmark Ornament Collectors Club, participating in many events and conventions throughout the US. In addition, Dotty was an avid photographer and traveler, always looking for her next great adventure. Dotty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Warrick of Port Clinton, who she married on June 24, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church. She is also survived by her children, Barbie (Brad) Price of Cincinnati, OH; Debbie Ballinger of Cincinnati, OH and Jeff (Ray Fridenstine) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Meredith and Graham Ballinger of Cincinnati, OH and Christopher and Jillian Price of Cincinnati, OH; brother Max C. Fischer of Junction, TX and many nieces and nephews. Dotty was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Dr. Chris Ballinger. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton, where the family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Services will be held October 21, 2015 at 11:00am at the funeral home, with burial immediately following at Catawba Island Cemetery.
