Dorothy G. Bryan, 95, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday December 9, 2009 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. She was born August 16, 1914 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Ann (Kitchen) James. On September 21, 1935 she married Thomas James Bryan and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. Dorothy was a drugstore clerk while residing in Canada and was later employed by the Wise Fashion Shop in Berea. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ Congregational in Marblehead. Surviving are her daughter Doreen Kirk of Marblehead; grandchildren Phil George of Bowling Green, Lori Hickman of Oak Harbor and Zak Kirk of Catawba Island; three great grandchildren Sara, Ruth and Ray, three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and two-step great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded Dorothy in death. Friends may call from 2 pm Sunday until the time of services at 3 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead. The Rev. Kay Cox will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn Cobbledick Art scholarship, c/o the Marblehead Bank.
