Dorothy C. "Molly" Mcnamee

Dorothy C. "Molly" McNamee, 88, of Lakeside died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village, Lakeside. She was born June 26, 1924 in Mt. Victory, OH the daughter of H. Paul and Jessie F. (Wilson) Curry. She married James Taylor, SR. and later married Robert J. "Bob" McNamee on July 29, 1975 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2008. Mrs. McNamee was a teacher and guidance counselor working most of her career at Indianola Jr. High School in the Columbus School District retiring in 1980. Bob and Molly bought a house in Lakeside in 1988 where they lived until moving to Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village in April of 2002. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she was in the Bell Choir. She was also a member of Lakeside Keystone, Ladies String Quartet of Lakeside, Ohio Educational Association, and National Education Association. She was the accompanist of the musical group The Merry Men and the musician for the Clintonville Kiwanis. She previously was a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church where she was the youth leader of Methodist Youth Fellowship. Surviving are her son: Tim (Karen Lyle) Taylor of Columbus; daughters: Susan (Hugh) Nicholson of Tallahassee, FL, Ann (Steve) Mitchell-Front of Sarasota, FL, Linda Taylor of Aptos, CA; step-sons: Robert W. (Sandy) McNamee of North Boston, VA, Patrick (Kathy) McNamee of Columbus, step-daughter: Mariann Wells of Newark, OH; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert J. "Bob" McNamee; son: Jim Taylor, Jr.; grandson: John Scott Mitchell and step-granddaughter: Holly McNamee. Memorial services and interment in The Memorial Garden at Chautauqua Park, Lakeside will be held at a later date.
