Doris M. Gnepper, 88 of Port Clinton, OH died Sunday, July 10, 2022 at her home under Hospice Care. She was born May 12, 1934 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late Roland and Betty (Pfeiffer) Dewitz Sr. She was a 1952 graduate of Salem- Oak Harbor High School. On June 7, 1957 she married Paul Gnepper and he survives. Prior to her marriage, Doris worked for the Erie Ordinance Depot. She then spent time raising a family while also working with her husband to refurbish and lease various personal properties in Elmore. She returned to work and eventually retired from the Ottawa County Farm Bureau, where she had served for over a decade. She was an avid non-fiction reader and made it a priority to listen to EIB network broadcasts. As a youth Doris was confirmed at St Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. After her marriage, she became a member of Bethel Church, Elmore, and served as a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. Doris loved to attend Bible Study. Later in life she and her husband spent nearly 18 years wintering in St. James City, Florida, where she attended the First Baptist Church of St. James City. Doris enjoyed dinner out with friends and family. She also was a fan of Detroit Tiger Baseball, cheering them on both in person and via broadcast. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Paul of Port Clinton, OH; children: Dean Gnepper of Elmore, OH, Dave Gnepper of Luckey, OH, and Lori (Jason) Schultze of Elmore, OH; grandchildren: Morgan &; Nicholas Gnepper, Allison &; Evan Schultze; sisters: Ila Tabbert and Janis (Bill) Gyde; brothers Charles (Ruth) Dewitz and Roland “Ed” (Judy) Dewitz Jr. She was also preceded in death by a sister Reta Windisch. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore.
