Doris L. Rowbotham, 92, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Otterbein North Shore. She was born September 9, 1931 in Youngstown, Oh the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Ruhlman) Gould. Doris graduated from South High School in Youngstown, OH in 1949 and she married Albert J. Rowbotham on June 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2009. Doris went on to graduate from Youngstown State University and then taught at Western Reserve Elementary School in Ellsworth, OH. Later Al and Doris opened a ceramic shop in North Jackson.
She was a member of Firelands Presbyterian Church, Port Clinton, OH and previously a member of Ellsworth Presbyterian church, Ellsworth, OH. Doris enjoyed being active in her card club for over 50 years. Doris and Al moved to Marblehead, OH and became active in the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society where Doris was a Docent. She enjoyed going to sporting events for her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Terry (Janette), Claudia, Sally (Frank); grandchildren: Jeremy (Julia), Jamie (Julie), Christopher (Julie), Craig (Cori); great-grandchildren: Lily, Porter, Violet, Teagan, Mia, Ella, Miles, Grace and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and son-in-law: John. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. We would like to thank the multiple healthcare providers and staff of Otterbein in Lakeside-Marblehead and Ashanti Hospice for their attentive, compassionate care and assistance to Doris.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Private interment will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Pastor Bobbi Bella will be officiating. While flowers and arrangements are always lovely and greatly appreciated, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, if so considered, may be made to the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society, Ashanti Hospice, Fireland Presbyterian Church, or one of your own choosing.
