Doris H. Fought

Doris H. Fought, 98, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born in Sandusky County on April 2, 1919, the daughter of the late Henry H. & Martha Mary (Haidt) Bender. Doris was a cashier for many years at the former Family Food Market in Oak Harbor, and was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. On July 3, 1938, she married Donald F. Fought, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2006. Doris is survived by her son, Donald F. Fought, Jr., and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kermit Bender, Elstner "Mike" Bender, and Dale Bender. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Pastor David Hendricks will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Humane Society of Ottawa County, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
