Donna L. Greener

Donna L. Greener, 92, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born the oldest of five children on July 9, 1928 at the family farm in Oak Harbor to Arthur and Besse (Fick) Atwater. Donna graduated from Salem Oak Harbor High School and married Ervin Greener on June 26, 1948 who preceded her in death on October 26, 1994. From the time she was a child, she had a strong work ethic and was never afraid to work to accomplish a goal. Donna worked at Dayton Marine in Fremont and worked in housekeeping at Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant and T.P. S. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She enjoyed many things including crocheting and knitting, but nothing was more important to her than her family. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of the people she cared about. She will be remembered as a feisty, selfless, strong, independent woman who always knew exactly what was needed at the time it was needed. She had endless amounts of toast and lectures for her grandchildren and abundant amounts of love for everyone she knew. Her hard shell disguised a compassionate heart and giving soul. Surviving are her children: Paul (Vicki) Greener of Oak Harbor, Ron (Lura) Greener of Oak Harbor and Marcia Johnson of Canal Winchester, OH; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother: Terry (Gen) Atwater of Oak Harbor and sister: Betty (Ron) Watt of Oak Harbor. She was preceded in death by her son: Gary Greener; son-in-law: Bill Johnson; brothers: Charles Atwater and Neil Atwater. Visitation will be conducted Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, December 10, 2020 with Rev. Scott Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Rusha Cemetery.
