Donna F. Oberhaus, 87, of Lakeside, Ohio, and formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community, Lakeside. She was born in Elmore, Ohio on July 24, 1924, a daughter of Gottlieb & Florence (Bothe) Schuster. Donna was a retired telephone operator, working for GTE in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, Lakeside, and was formerly a long time member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer. Donna was a Cub Scout Den Mother for several years, and enjoyed reading, swimming and word puzzles. She and her husband Robert, greatly enjoyed travelling, visiting all 50 states and Europe. She especially loved cruising, where they visited the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Australia. She also was fond of visiting Amish country and loved lighthouses. Donna most especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. On November 16, 1946, she married Robert Oberhaus, and he survives. Also surviving is her son, Scott (Carol) Oberhaus, Richmond, TX; daughter, Vicki (Ted) Fillmore, Catawba Island; sisters, Lois Velliquette, Port Clinton, and Betty Spriggs, Fremont, Ohio; granddaughters, Tiffany Marshall and Rhanda Fillmore. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Robert Bothe. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday , July 7, 2012 at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church with Pastor Vern Shepherd of Lakeside United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, Donna's family would appreciate memorial contributions to Memorial Hospice.
