Donald Wayne Lockhart

Donald Wayne Lockhart, 69, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday July 30, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was born August 2, 1938 in Toledo, the son of D'Maurice and Phyllis (Brady) Lockhart Meyers. Don retired as a Detective Sergeant of the Port Clinton Police Department in 1995 after 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Port Clinton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 79. Don enjoyed woodworking and building shelves and cabinets, doing crossword puzzles and golfing. Surviving are his wife Beverly (Zunk) whom he married on November 30, 1957; daughter Karin (Dan) Willis of Oak Harbor; sons Robert Wayne (Joni) Lockhart and William (Kerryn) Lockhart both of Port Clinton; grandchildren Richard Lockhart, Ryan Lockhart, Kayla Lockhart, Aaron Lockhart, Emily Willis, Olivia Willis and Alison Willis; and a brother John Richard "Dick" (Janet) Lockhart of Port Clinton. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation will be held 9:30 am Friday until the time of services at 11:30 am Friday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. The Rev. James Lehman will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery with police honors led by the Port Clinton Police Dept. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stein Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
