Donald R. Buck

Donald R. Buck, 78, of Long Beach, Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 of Multiple Myeloma. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 19, 1930, the youngest of 11 children of Harvey & Ruth (Riopelle) Buck. Don had many interests including gardening, winemaking, fishing, and boating. He especially enjoyed tinkering in the garage and around the house. Don was a graduate of Macomber High School in Toledo, and was a die maker at General Motors, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed a full and productive life. On January 20, 1951, Don married the former Joanne Kassin, and she survives, along with their four sons, Dr. Leonard & Rita Buck, Duane & Fran Buck, Dale & Carol Buck, and Jeffrey & Debbie Buck. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Malinowski, Eva Sturdevant, Rita Griffin, and Therese Cousino. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, with Rev. David L. Ritchie officiating. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, where graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
