Donald J. DeCrane, Sr. 80, of Danbury Township and formerly of Sagamore Hills, OH passed away quietly at home on July 29, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born November 6, 1939 in Cleveland OH the son of Leo and Cecelia (Kamuf) DeCrane. He married Susan Blashford on February 24, 1962 and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2017. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, OH. He is survived by his sons: Donald (Maggie) DeCrane, Jr of Randolph, OH, Ron (Carrye) DeCrane of Sagamore Hills, OH, James (Asia) DeCrane of Danbury Township, OH; grandchildren: Joseph, Daniel, Susannah, Charles, Kyle, Tara, and Caleb; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Fyfe of Cleveland, OH and Carol (Ross) Bellanco of Mentor, OH and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Nathaniel and an infant great-granddaughter. Don worked in information technology, most recently for The Cleveland Clinic for many years. His colleagues held him in high regard. His experience and leadership made him an asset to every organization. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and tinkering. He loved to work with his hands. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH with additional visitation Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 9:30 – 10:30 am followed by family prayer services in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father James Brown 11:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH 43440 or the Food Pantry at Church of Truth Ministries, 3260 E. State Rd.
