Donald Hensley

March 31, 1935 — April 22, 2007

Donald (Don) Hensley, 72, went peacefully home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born on March 31, 1935 in Greene County, Tennessee, and moved to Port Clinton in 1955. After forty-two years of service at Port Clinton Manufacturing Company, he retired in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years (September 2006), Mildred (Rose) Hensley, one son, Johnny (Pat) Hensley of Port Clinton, and five daughters, Donna (David) Hatfield and Lynda (Jim) Rofkar of Port Clinton, Brenda (Larry) Ball of Church Hill, Tenn., Joyce (Dan) Hummel of Mechanicsville, VA, and Debby (Mike) Scott of Manchester, Tenn., Fourteen Grandchildren, Jamey and Justin Hensley, Cole and Cody Hatfield, Maci (Fisher) and Greg Staib, Laree Ball, Joseph and Elizabeth Hummel, Bryan Hensley, Josh Collins, Jordan Ohm, and Emma and Ana Rofkar, nine great-grandchildren, four brothers, Gaither Hensley of Kingsport, Tenn., Sammy (Shirley) Hensley and Joe (Judy) Hensley of Rogersville, Tenn., and Billy (Kurtis) Hensley of Fremont, OH, two sisters, Evelyn Rollins of Parkers Lake, KY and Goldie Rollins of Bronston, KY, many nieces and nephews, his special little companion- his dog, Feliz, and a host of many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Anna May(Tittle) Hensley, three sisters, Juanita, Patricia, and June, and one grandson, Derek Samuel Rofkar. The family will receive friend from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 11:00 AM. Reverend Walter Hicks will officiate, and interment will follow in LaCarpe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or the American Cancer Society. He was a very loving husband and father, who loved bluegrass music, playing the banjo and guitar, woodworking, and making many beautiful gifts for his family. He took pride in his family, home, and yard and loved decorating for Christmas. He was a jovial man who brought joy to everyone around him. He will be greatly missed.
