Donald Gene Bloom, 73, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, in Toledo. He was born on February 1, 1934 in Oak Harbor to Irene M. (Marko) and the late Lyle Bloom. Donnie was known around the community from making deposits and delivering mail for local businesses. He will be remembered by the people in Oak Harbor for riding his bike, in his “BP” cap and saying “How ya doin’?, Behavin’ yourself ?” He was also the Grand Marshall of the Apple Festival, as well as, a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Survivors include his mother: Irene M. (Marko) Bloom, brother Jim (Vicki) Bloom, sister Marilyn (Clark) Lieske all of Oak Harbor, OH; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-9PM at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will begin at 11AM on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions are asked to go to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor.
