Donald F. Fought

Donald F. Fought, Jr., 79, of Toledo, OH, and formerly of Cincinnati, OH, and Oak Harbor, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. He was born in Fremont, OH on March 22, 1940, the son of Donald F. & Doris H. (Bender) Fought. Don was a 1958 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, and received a B.A. from Kent State University in 1962. In 1966, he earned a Master of Arts degree from The Ohio State University, and in 1972, a Masters in Library Science from the State University of New York. Don worked at the Ida Rupp Public Library, Port Clinton, OH from 1975-1987, and at The Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County from 1987 until his retirement in 2005. He was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by several cousins in the Bender and Fought families. Graveside services will be held later this summer at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
