Donald F. Beyer, 82, of Graytown, OH, died Thursday at Genoa Care Center, Genoa, OH. Mr. Beyer was born in Benton Township on November 16, 1924, a son of the late Clarence & Edna (Pafenbach) Beyer. He married the former Orlene L. Schimming on July 30, 1947, and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2005. Mr. Beyer was a life long farmer and was also an insurance agent for Woodville Mutual for many years. He also worked at American Ship Building, Hans Hansen Welding, and Merce Boiler as a member of Boilermakers Local #85, Toledo. An active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, Mr. Beyer was a deacon and a former member of the church council. He was also a member of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau and the N.F.O. Mr. Beyer is survived by his children, Robert (Becky) Beyer, Perrysburg, OH, and Lynne (Scott) McNutt, Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren, Tyler and Sarah McNutt, and Nicole and Hailey Beyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his twin brother, Robert Beyer. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Saturday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Blackberry) Martin, OH, with the Rev. Monty Kaufman officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH.
