Donald A. Wetzel

Donald A. Wetzel, 88, of Catawba Island died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born May 9, 1927 in Cleveland, OH the son of George and Frieda (Grieser) Wetzel. He married Jean Marie (Weber) on Sept. 10, 1949 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 2004. Mr. Wetzel was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh for 43 years. He was a Masonic Lodge member in Fairmont, WV and a member of ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out Somewhere). Surviving are his children: Gail Spahn of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Gary (Meg) Wetzel of Pittsburgh, PA, Laura (Mark) Hay of Columbus, OH, Timothy (Jacquelyn) Wetzel of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother: George Wetzel. Masonic Services will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH followed by Memorial Services at 10:30 am with Pastor Ryan Morter officiating.
