Dona L. Huber

Dona L. Huber, 68, of Catawba Island Twp., and formerly of Mansfield, OH, died Friday evening, March 17, 2006, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. She was born Feb. 15, 1938, in Cleveland, the daughter of John M. and Anna C. (Kline) Prokop. Mrs. Huber maintained the tradition of her Slovak heritage. She married John W. 'Bill' Huber on May 5, 1979, and he survives. Mrs. Huber was an R.N. CNOR for Medical Central of Mansfield and the Shelby Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH, where she was the first female adult Altar Server and a member of the Mansfield Power Squadron. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, boating and RVing, and she worked for the American Red Cross Blood Bank. Surviving are her husband, Bill; daughters, Dawn Rachel of Lopez Island, Wash., Dori Rachel of Kirkland, Wash., and Darienne (George) Box of Mansfield; stepsons, Mick (Paulette) Huber of Mansfield and Jeff (Donita) Huber of Huntsville, Ala.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead. Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, celebrated by the Rev. James Brown. Friends will also be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home, Mansfield. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Lung Association, Battered Women's Shelter (Transitional Housing) or Stein Hospice.
