Dolores J. Jess

Delores J. Jess, 80, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. She was born in Graytown, OH, on June 16, 1927, a daughter of John C. & Alvina W. (Lick) Wittman. Delores was a long-time employee of the former Standard Products Company, Port Clinton, where she worked for 46 years. She had also been employed at the Oak Harbor Basket Factory, Port Clinton Moose Lodge, and Chef's Best Catering. On April 29, 1950, she married Duane Jess, and he survives. Also surviving is her son, Bradley Jess, Oak Harbor; sister, Alice Mae Gura, Las Vegas, NV, Sisters-in-law, Marian Highburger, Louise Scott, and Lucille Jess, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Melvin and Bernard Wittman. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Trinity United Church of Christ, Elliston, OH, with Rev. Lowell Peters officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery.
