Dolores B. Petersen, 92, of Port Clinton died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH. She was born August 6, 1915 to Albert and Bertha (Bandelean) Offenburg in the 500 block of Washington St., Port Clinton, OH. She attended School in Salem Township, Oak Harbor, OH and graduated from High School in Port Clinton on May 25, 1933. On December 22, 1937 she married Wilbur Petersen and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. Dolores was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, was a charter member and first president of the Mothers of Twins Club, past-president of the Elks Ladies #1718 Port Clinton, Life member and past-president of Magruder Hospital Auxiliary with over 17, 000 volunteer hours at the hospital, member of Dendarah Court #10 Ladies Oriental Shrine of Toledo, member of China, Burma, India Auxiliary to Veterans of W.W.II in Toledo. Dolores was proud of her years of service on the #169 Board appointed by the late Judge Wargowsky to make Riverview School a reality. She was also happy to be named News Herald Woman of the Year in 1978. She loved to tell a good story and entertain with her good friend the late Pete Macko from Oak Harbor. Her hobbies were antiques and scrapbooks. She was a member of the Women’s 600 Bowling Club, an honor she achieved at the old Selgo Lanes on Perry Street in Port Clinton. Dolores was also a precinct worker for the Board of Elections in ward one for many years. Survivors are twin sons, Ted (Christina) Petersen of Port Clinton, Ned (Janet) Petersen of East Taunton, MA; grandchildren, Eric (Brenda) Petersen of Port Clinton, Heather (Kenneth) Boehme and Holly (Tony) Maura of Taunton, MA and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, December 24, 2007 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton with Pastor James Lehman officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
