Diane E. Schnitzler

Diane E. Schnitzler, 69, of Marblehead, Ohio died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at her residence. She was born on March 3, 1940 in Geneva, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arnold H. and Joyce (Herbert) Farwig. On August 19, 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Danny Schnitzler, and he survives. From 1961-1968 Diane worked as an x-ray technician in Fostoria and also in Cincinnati. She then received her realtor's license and went to work for Jack Bradley Realty in Port Clinton from 1976 until 1989 when she had to retire due to health issues. She was past president of the Port Clinton Area Business and Professional Women; member of the Port Clinton Book Club; and a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband: Danny; son: Dr. Mark Allen (Joni) Schnitzler; and daughter: Elizabeth Courtney (Joseph) Ernst, both of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren: Nicole & Jennifer Schnitzler and Matthew Ernst; sisters: Sherrie Blake, Jalisco, Mexico; Kay Zygala, Chicago, Illinois; and Patricia (Tracy) Graham, Houston, Texas; mother-in-law: Dorothy Schnitzler, Fostoria, Ohio; sisters-in-law: Marlene (Walter) Holtmeyer, Luckey, Ohio and Phyllis Schnitzler, Fostoria, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be no visitation or services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, Pittsburgh, PA.
