Denvill "Dank" Kirby

Denvill "Dank" Kirby, 73, of Port Clinton, died Friday, August 26, 2016 surrounded by his family at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born Feb. 8, 1943 in McCreary Co., KY the son of Simon and Rachel (Strunk) Kirby. He married Carol Anderson on Jan. 30, 1966 and she survives. Mr. Kirby was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. He loved spending time with his family especially his wife, kids and grandkids. He liked old cars and yard work. Surviving are his wife: Carol; daughters: Amy (Donald) Wendel, Leslie (Jim) Reagan, Chrystal (Brian) Petersen all of Port Clinton; son: James (Dawn) Kirby of Monroeville, OH; grandchildren: Brandon Payne, Meghan (Brad) Kirk, Ryan Guerra, Katie (Joel) Shultz, Jacob Petersen, Lynzie Petersen, Kali Kirby; great-grandson: Branson Kirk; close family friend: Tom Griggs; sisters: Rose Wheeler of Port Clinton, Della Marts of Indiana, Mary (Mike) Kelley of Indiana; brother: William (Eva) Kirby of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Dewell Kirby and Lowell Kirby. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 -4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
