Dennis M. Flick, 77 formerly of Elmore, OH died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Foundation Park Alzheimer’s Care Center in Toledo, OH. He was born February 21, 1943 in Elmore, OH to the late Alfred E. Flick and Rowena (Marolf) Flick. He was a graduate of Elmore High School. Dennis worked for Jerry Haar Excavating in Elmore of which he retired. He also was a longtime volunteer of the Harris-Elmore Fire Department where he made life-long friends. Dennis enjoyed tinkering and repurposing home and yard items. His children and grandchildren grew up with the phrase, “If Papa can’t fix it, then it can’t be fixed”. Denny was a collector- he loved his trains, his hats, and his tools, but what he loved most was spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed taking them to Cedar Point, dressing up in matching costumes for Halloween, and cheering them on at all school events. Even his four-legged grandchildren were not overlooked- he loved to tease them as much as he loved giving them treats. No matter what, Denny was always there to help his family out. Whether it was yardwork or home renovation, he could always be counted on to arrive with a smile. For those reasons, amongst many others, Dennis will be dearly missed. Survivors include his children: Denise (Andy) Cargo of Katy, TX, Mark (Whitney) Flick of Woodville, OH, and Melanie (Mark) Melfi of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren: William (Larkyn) Cargo and Samuel (Logan) Cargo both of Houston, TX; Kiersten Flick of Woodville, OH; Hannah (Nate) Oberle of Temperance, MI and Caden Melfi of Sylvania; great- granddaughters: Avery (William & Larkyn) Cargo and Juniper (Nate & Hannah) Oberle. He was also preceded in death by Mary Anne (Kroeger) Flick. Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 2021 from 11-1pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore- Genoa Chapel where private services will begin at 1pm. Burial will be at a later date in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Harris Elmore Fire & EMS Department or Foundation Park Alzheimer’s Care Center.
