Dennis L. Felton

March 6, 1948 — May 24, 2022

Dennis L. Felton, 74, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, lived life to the fullest. He was always the most boisterous in the room and the person telling the stories you never wanted to miss. Sadly, Dennis lost his year long battle with pancreatic cancer at Stein Hospice on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. He was born March 6, 1948 in Bergenfield, NJ to the late Herbert and Mary (Ullengren) Felton. Survivors include his daughters Kelly (Rob) Jones of Dacula, GA; Kimberly (Dan) Periat of Port Clinton, OH; grandchildren: Kamdyn Periat, Grant Periat, and Andrew Jones; brother Richard (Marcia) Felton; and sister Mary Felton. He was also preceded in death by his son Ryan Christopher Felton, twin granddaughters Audrey & Olivia Periat; and grandson Daniel Mark Periat Jr. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of Bergenfield High School and received his BA from the University of Toledo in Accounting. On May 6, 1972, he married the former Deborah Keil who preceded him in death on October 26, 2008. Dennis, an entrepreneur and Certified Public Accountant had many business adventures including working at Campbell Soup, Alexander Grant, Goglin Heating & Cooling, Scannell Electric, French Lawn Irrigation and Diversified Alarm Company. Out of all of the business opportunities he was a part of, he really found his home as the owner of Wild Wings Store & Restaurant in Oak Harbor. As owner and operator of Wild Wings, Dennis was a success, but Wild Wings was more than just a company to Dennis. He built friendships there for a lifetime, where he was known as "King of the Wings." Dennis's family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Wild Wings Employees and customers who have become family and will never be forgotten. Dennis's passion in life was traveling. He loved taking Debbie on cruises where they explored places like Bora Bora, Alaska, New Zealand, Russia and Argentina. Dennis and Debbie loved to visit their timeshare in the mountains of Western Carolina which was like a second home to the family. This timeshare quickly became a memorable place for his daughters and their families to frequently visit. After the passing of his wife, Dennis continued his love of traveling with his daughters and their families. They were lucky enough to visit Disney, Kauai, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata. He had 4 hole in ones as an avid golfer and enjoyed this time spent with family and friends. In his younger years he played on various tennis teams at Laurel Hill Swim and Tennis Club. His love of sports continued when his grandchildren were born. He was their biggest fan and you could often hear him cheering at most sporting events. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor. Services will begin at 11am, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at Wild Wings Restaurant from 1:00-4:00 Burial will take place in the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo at a later date.
