Deloris E. (Schimming) Siefke, of Graytown, Ohio, passed away on April 1, 2020 at Genoa Retirement Village where she was a resident for the last several years. Deloris Emma Siefke was born August 8, 1921 to Fred & Anna (Sievert) Schimming. She was a 1939 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. On January 23, 1945, she was joined in marriage to Roger H. Siefke. He passed away on June 10, 2000. She and her husband cherished time spent with family members. For years their home was the gathering place every Sunday for their children and grandchildren. They rarely missed one of their childrens or grandchildrens school activities. They enjoyed countless hours around the kitchen table playing pinochle. They were happy to spend time together wandering through flea markets and antique shops searching for beautiful glassware. Their favorite travel destination was the Amish area near Kidron, Ohio. Deloris also was known for her outstanding baking, sewing, and gardening skills. Deloris worked at Save Electric Company of Toledo as a stem maker for 25-watt bulbs. She worked for the Board of Elections as a poll worker for over 25 years. She was honored for her long time service on the election board in 1984. Deloris was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, Ohio. She was a member of the Sarah Circle of Women, taught Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School, recorded the Sunday School attendance, monitored the chruchs Cradle Roll, and served as the Sunday School Superintendent. Deloris is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Wilbert (Velta) Schimming; and sisters, Edith Goetz and Orlene (Donald) Beyer. She is survived by her daughter, Carole (William) Freimark of Graytown; son, Wayne (Nancy) Siefke of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Lori Clune of Oak Harbor, Krista Freimark of Toledo, Jill Freimark of Toledo, Erin (Daron) DuPrae of Walbridge, Adam (Morgan) Siefke of Port Clinton, and Amy (Darrin) Lash of Oak Harbor; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Freimark, Paige and Zachary Clune, Delaney and Kendall DuPrae, Addisynne, Wyatt, and Brynnlee Siefke, Megan and Alex Rife, and Karson Lash. Private family graveside services were held at Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. A Celebration of Deloris' life will begin at noon on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 17877 W. S.R. 579, Martin, OH 43445 with a luncheon to follow. Those planning on making a memorial contribution are asked to please consider St. Peter Lutheran Church.
