On February 4, 1945 she married Frederick "Fritz" Harnisch and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1968. Deloris worked as a teletype taker at the Erie Proving Grounds during and after WWII. She then worked at a couple of local shops in Port Clinton, including Mary's Shop and an antique store. Most importantly, she raised her three sons and was a very loving and devoted mom who loved to cook and bake. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, especially rummy and pinochle. In her later years, she would go to Daybreak at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus and participated in many senior activities there. One of her greatest loves in later years was listening to the music of Irish singer/performer Daniel O'Donnell. She attended several of his Toledo performances and was able to meet with him personally each time where he always kissed her, something she never forgot. Survivors include her sons: Mike (Janice) Harnisch, Perrysburg, Ohio and Mark Harnisch of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Jeff Harnisch, Lori (Sean) Linkes, Jerrod (Adrianna) Harnisch, Logan Harnisch, Lyndsey Harnisch; great-grandsons: Ethan, Aaron, Ryan, and Brayden Linkes; niece: Patti Shilling, Port Clinton; family friend: Doug "Skip" Mcdougall, Port Clinton; nephew: Vaughn (Debbie) Brewer, Summerville, South Carolina; cousins: Clarabelle Bothe and Milton "Butch" Long; and her faithful canine companion: Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her son: Timothy Harnisch; sisters: Florence Brewer and Marian Wightman; brother: Ralph Wightman; and her feline companion of many years: Milo. Per Deloris's wishes, cremation has taken place.
