Delores E. Robertson

Delores E. Robertson, 95, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on January 24, 1919, a daughter of Clayton & Nettie V. (Finken) Brough. Delores attended Oak Harbor schools and was a telephone operator during her senior year. She was a lifetime member of the former Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Carroll Township. She was also an active member of the former Oak Harbor Chapter #131, Order of the Eastern Star. Delores was a devoted and caring mother who enjoyed baking cookies, cooking, church, reading, and playing the piano, but mostly just being a mom. On January 24, 1940, she married Edgar N. Robertson, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1993. Delores is survived by her children, James E. (Gloria) Robertson, Huntsville, Alabama, Jerry D. (Kathy) Robertson, Thornton, Colorado, and Karen Simpkins, Oak Harbor; sister-in-law, Donna Brough, Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Eric, Greg, Krista, Amanda, Matt, Adam, Kari, and Keith, and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Curt Brough; and sisters, Donna Lou Stamm, Mabel Reitler, Grace Sherwood, and June Browder. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2014. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, or to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Ohio.
