Deanna L. Gluth, 74, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Sandusky, Ohio on April 12, 1938, the only child of Frederick & Mary (Paone) Otto. A graduate of Lakeside High School, Deanna also attended Bowling Green State University. She married Francis "Frank" Gluth in Oak Harbor on September 16, 1961, and he survives. Deanna was the Executive Secretary of the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce for many years, and was an employee of the former Erie Army Depot. An active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, Deanna was a member of the Abend Guild of the church, was a former Youth Fellowship advisor, and enjoyed working in the kitchen of the church. She was also a 4-H leader and a member of the C.C.L. A voracious reader, Deanna enjoyed being a member of the Oak Harbor Literary & Social Club. She collected thimbles and chains from their travels, and greatly enjoyed baking and tending her flowers. An animal lover, Deanna was especially fond of her dogs. Deanna and Frank were active in Marriage Encounter, and still remained friends with many of the couples in the group. She was a very good seamstress and loved playing cards. Her greatest love however, was for her husband, daughters, and granddaughter. Deanna is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters, Mary (Brad) Thone, New Braunfels, Texas and Lisa (Tracy) Buhrow, Oak Harbor; her granddaughter, Anna Buhrow, and Mandy, their Labrador Retriever. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Monday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, with Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Interment will be in Roose Cemetery, Salem Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County or the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
