Dean L. Covert

Dean L. Covert, 81 formerly of Oak Harbor and Port Clinton, OH, died Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Story Point Care Center in Saline, MI. He was born October 7, 1940 in McCutcheonville, OH to the late Clarence and Modest (Cochenour) Covert. He was a 1958 graduate of Oak Harbor High School, received his BS in Education from Bowling Green State University, and his Masters from Syracuse University. In August of 1960 he married the former Sally Lezotte and she preceded him in death in 2015. Dean taught Biology for Lampeer High School in Lampeer, MI. He retired as a Professor of Science for Oakland University.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife Sally, son David Covert, daughter Catherine Covert, brother Larry Covert, and sisters Sandra Elwing and Judith Hanus. He is survived by a brother James Covert, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will begin at 11am on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Oak Harbor Athletic Boosters.
