David V. St.Clair

David Virgil St. Clair, 79 of Oak Harbor, OH passed away peacefully at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, OH Wednesday, October 17, 2018. He was born March 1, 1939 to the late Virgil and Ivadella (Skinner) St. Clair at the Toussaint Shooting Club in Oak Harbor, which his family has managed for generations. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1957, attended University of Southern California, Embry Riddle Flight School and served in the United States Army. He worked many years as a commercial fisherman and as a hunting guide for the Toussaint Shooting Club. David was also a commercial pilot and flew the Ford Tri- Motor (Tin Goose) for Island Airlines in Port Clinton, OH. Survivors include his wife Sandra (Nissen- Favro) of whom he married June 5, 1965; children: Brian Favro, Michelle Favro, Ellen St. Clair, and Renee (Sam) Livas; grandchildren: Jordan Torres, Cody Livas, Whitney Rutledge, Miranda Hummel; great- grandchildren: Isabella & Violet Torres and Landon & Graham Livas; brothers: Alvin (Laurie) St. Clair, Lawrence "Ollie" (Janet) St. Clair, Virgil (Wendy) St. Clair; sisters: Joy Jackson and Anne Callan; many much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jill Hummel and great-granddaughter Samantha Torres. Services will begin at 3pm Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel where the family will receive friends beginning at 1pm Saturday until the time of service. Private burial will take place in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Care Center or ProMedica Hospice.
