David J. Luska, 71, of Lakeside passed away May 25, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. He was born September 15, 1950 in Port Clinton, OH, the son of John and June (Brady) Luska. Dave was a lifelong resident of Lakeside and a lifelong member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. He graduated from Danbury Township High School in 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970 when his draft lottery number was 113. He did basic training at Fort Hood, Texas and served two years in Vietnam. He was a forklift operator for New Departure from 1969 to 2007 and was always considered a General Motors employee even though the company was operated by Delphi when he retired. Dave always had a positive attitude, was a generous supporter of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, collected model cars, enjoyed1960s music and his cat, Bella. Surviving is his aunt: Delores Luska Danchisen of Marblehead; cousins: Jane (Dan Elchisco) Danchisen Pittman of Marblehead, Joanne (Mark) Danchisen Sauvey of Hilliard, OH, Sue (Jim) Brady Hefflinger of Port Clinton, John (Sandra) Brady of Port Clinton; goddaughter, Marilee (David) Pittman Clemons of Oregon, OH and many more cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marilyn Luska, aunts: Annabel Brady Anderson, Mary "Marcha" Luska, Lillian Luska Yeakley; uncle: Leroy Brady and cousins: David G. Rion and Paul Rion. Visitation will be held Monday, May 30 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH where Parastas services will be conducted Monday at 7 pm. Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday, May 31 at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 505 E. Main St. Marblehead, OH with additional visitation at the church from 10 - 11 am. Fr. Dennis Hrubiak will be officiating and Helen Jean Cooley will cantor. Interment will follow at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery with military honors presented by Stanley Jadwisiak V.F.W. Post 7572. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the church hall.
