David Lee Lott, 41, of Oak Harbor died unexpectedly following an accident on the Portage River Monday, August 16, 2010 in Oak Harbor. He was born January 26, 1969 in Oregon, OH to Ralph H. and Joan M. (Hall) Lott. He was a 1987 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and received various Engineering Degrees from the University of Toledo. On April 17, 1998 he married the former Heather Miller. Dave was currently employed at BP as an Electrical Engineer in the Toledo Refinery. Prior to his employment with BP, he was employed for 12 years by Sunoco, Toledo. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, Oak Harbor Conservation Club, National Rifle Association, Port Clinton Yacht Club, Ducks Unlimited and various Professional Organizations. He was an avid boater, hunter, fisherman, and Oak Harbor Wrestling Fan. He loved guns; collecting and target shooting, his dogs: Glouster and Drake and spending time with family and friends in a "social" atmosphere. One thing that was important to Dave was being a Dad. Survivors include his wife Heather of Oak Harbor, children Dawson T. and Faith M., both at home; mother Joan of Oregon, OH; brothers: Ralph "Bud" (Linda) Lott of Moline, OH, Mark (Sherry) Lott of Milpitas, CA, Neil (Michelle) Lott of Toledo, OH; sisters: Pam (Larry) Peck of Port Charlotte, FL, Joan (Dave) Church of Oregon, OH, Faith (Buck) Avery of Oak Harbor, OH, Mary Rohm (Scott Schlagle) of Northwood, OH; Aaron (Melissa) Avery, Matt (Jen) Avery, and Leslie Avery (Chris Dick) and numerous other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by father and mother- in- law Tom and Sandy Miller of Rocky Ridge, OH; and brother- in- laws: Ferd (Stacy) Miller of Graytown, OH, Chad (Barb) Miller of Oak Harbor, OH, Tait (Amber) Miller of Graytown, OH, and Zeb Miller of Painesville, OH. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11am at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with the Rev. Keith Baker Officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
