David E. Detzel, 55, of Perrysburg, OH, died Friday, June 24, 2016. He was born in Toledo, OH on March 27, 1961, a son of Bill & Judy (Meyer) Detzel. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1979, Dave worked for Brush-Wellman (now Materion) in Elmore, OH for many years. He also pursued many other endeavors including a butterfly house on Kelleys Island, massage therapy, and colonics instructor. Dave was known for his generosity and desire to take care of others. He always had a kind word and smile for everyone he knew and everyone he met. Dave enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, cooking out, and playing poker. Dave was the beloved son of Bill & Judy Detzel, Graytown, OH. Also left to cherish his memory are siblings, Larry (Pat) Detzel, Sylvania, OH, Cindy (Harry) Teeple, Bradner, OH, Debbie (Tim) Piercefield, Oak Harbor, OH, Bill (Jolene) Detzel, Bolingbrook, IL; nieces, Jackie (Keith) Stephens, Tiffany (Josh) Detzel, Julie Piercefield, Kelly Detzel, Emily Detzel; nephews, Stephen Detzel, Max Detzel, and Mike Detzel; a great niece, a great nephew, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may call from 3-7:30 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Prayers will be recited at 9:45 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2016 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 215 Church St., Oak Harbor. Rev. Timothy F. Ferris will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
