David E. Crozier, 70, of Elmore, OH, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2012. The youngest of eight children, he was born in Elmore on June 3, 1941, to Dale E. and Leona (Freimark) Crozier. He graduated in 1959, from Harris-Elmore High School, and was a member of the former Elmore Christian Church. Dave's early career included the Ohio Turnpike, Brush Beryllium, Fremont Plastic Molds, and Modern Tools of Toledo. In 1977, he co-founded Special Cast Molds in Elmore, with Max Graber. He operated the business for over 30 years, specializing predominantly in tooling and molds for the automotive industry. Dave had a strong sense of civic stewardship, having served Elmore in various capacities over the years. He was mayor of the village of Elmore from 1976 to 1980, and also served many years, including current term, as village councilman. He was the fourth generation of Crozier's to serve on the Board of Public Affairs, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, Alva, and great-grandfather, Robert J. Crozier. Dave was also instrumental in getting the Ohio Turnpike interchange constructed for Elmore. Throughout his life, Dave was interested in structural design and architecture. While still in high school, he designed a building for the village of Elmore, and later designed and remodeled several homes, as well as the building for Special Cast Molds. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Jean Crozier and Betty Riehm; sister-in-law, Hattie F. Crozier; and brothers-in-law, John H. Wood II, Richard C. Howe, and Roger A. Riehm. He is survived by son, Christopher Rex (Robin) Crozier; grandson, Jason Crozier; grand-daughter, Kelly (Jamey) Metroff; brothers: James P., William D., and Thomas A. (Sharon) Crozier; sisters Lila C. Wood and Sue Howe; aunt Marie Magsig, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21st, from 2-8 PM at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19950 W.
