So, fifteen years ago, I married my best friend and today, I say goodbye. Cancer is cruel and he was courageous. Life blew by us in a blink. And while we wont get to do everything we had planned, theres not much of what we wanted that we actually didnt get to do… I am ever thankful of our time, and, it was ALWAYS together. David was remarkable and skillful at what he set his mind to. Ready, willing and able at all times he could argue with a stop sign, he had strong core values and an innate sense of right and wrong. With David, you always knew where you stood. He was an exceptional and successful business man and mentor. His mechanical abilities and common sense along with a fanatical love for the outdoors, hunting, his dogs, travel, the water, diving, boating and our farm made him interesting on so many levels. He made friends wherever he went. In fact, friends and friendship meant EVERYTHING to him; friends became our family. I will not be the only one to miss this man each day. Preceding him in death are his father Edward Dooge, maternal grandparents Irene (Brumm) and Edward Kiekens and paternal grandparents Gladys (Bartels) and Edmund (Butch) Dooge. Surviving him are his ever loving wife; Robin DeGraff, mother Doris (Kiekens) Dooge, son Joseph and Leslie Dooge and grand-daughter Samantha, daughter Natalie Moore and Jeff Sokolowski and grand-children James, Jackson and Addison, sister Debra and Mike Ahland, brothers Edward and Wiendy Dooge, Paul and Deborah Dooge and half-sister Meghan Dooge. Any memoriam to www.StJude.org and give hope to the children in his name.
