David A. Carman

March 8, 1947 — April 26, 2018

David A. Carman, 71, of Marblehead, Ohio and formerly of Ashland, Ohio, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late Arles and Mary (Wheeler) Carman. He married Susie Weiss on March 28, 1969 and she survives. David was a veteran of the United States Navy having served our country during the Vietnam War. He worked as a lineman for Ohio Edison for over 34 years until his retirement. After retirement he continued to work as a lineman for another 14 years on Kelleys Island. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland. He was also a member of the Ashland Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky, Ohio. In his free time he enjoyed being on the water, especially fishing on Lake Erie. He and Susie enjoyed vacationing in Florida near the ocean, as well as in Myrtle Beach, and Mackinaw Island. He was an avid Michigan fan. Most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with them, especially going to and watching his grandchildrens sporting events. Survivors include his wife, Susie; daughters, Amy Carman and Laura (Greg) Stormer, both of Ashland; grandchildren, Sean Carman, Bryce and Ellie Stormer; sister, Kay (Gary) Thompson, Ashland; brothers, Ron (Jan) Carman, Ontario, Ohio, Ken (Elaine) Carman, Perrysville, Ohio, and Tim (Mary) Carman, Loudonville, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Paul Goard, Ashland and Wayne Dixon, Ashland; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ann Goard and Judy Dixon. Per Davids wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
