Dana Denise Conners

Dana Denise Conners, 53, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on April 30, 1959, a daughter of Herman & Betty (Glovier) Cook. Denise was well known for her work at the Ottawa County Department of Health & Human Services, where she was employed for over 20 years. More recently, she has assisted people as a paralegal in the office of Attorney D. Bowen Loeffler in Port Clinton. A meticulous homemaker and planner of family events, Denise was also a very talented home decorator. She greatly enjoyed reading and gardening, and was particularly fond of her daisies. An extremely family-oriented person, Denise was known as the "glue of the family". She was a care-giver for her parents and other family members, always putting others before her. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, and mother, and particularly doted on her grandchildren, whom she adored. Denise was also a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoyed baseball, particularly the Cleveland Indians. On March 5, 1977, she married Mitchell E. Conners, and he survives. Also surviving are her parents, Herman and Betty Cook, Port Clinton; her children, Amie (Brad) Herbert, Marblehead, Ohio, and Brandon (Jen) Conners, Oak Harbor; sisters, Karen (Bill) Garretson, Akron, Ohio, Kathy (Eric) O'Brien, Oak Harbor, and Donna (Mark) Szymanowski, Fremont, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, with another due soon. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Saturday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
