Dailey L. Hines, 88, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on June 14, 1930 in Romney, West Virginia, a son of the late James and Grace (Loy) Hines. He married Clara Yost on June 6, 1953 and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2012. Dailey was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He worked at the former Celotex Plant in Port Clinton as a laborer and forklift operator for over 40 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Wayside Temple in Castalia and also a lifetime member of the Port Clinton VFW Post 2480. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly (Kenneth) Nietfeld, Port Clinton; sons, Steven (Stephanie) Hines, Ponte Vedra, Florida and Randy Hines, Port Clinton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Gordon and Grace Kestor; brothers, Larry Hines, William Hines and Donald Hines as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters, Mary Kellas, Rose Tomlinson, and Edna Davis; and brothers, James Hines, George Hines, Steve Hines, and David Hines. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11 am at Catawba Island Cemetery, 4827 E. Cemetery Road, Catawba Island, with Pastor Rusty Yost officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio or to the Alzheimers Association, 480 W. Dussel Drive, Suite 150, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
