Curtice Van Hoose

Curtice Van Hoose, 87, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his daughter, Denise's residence in Port Clinton. He was born on February 8, 1927 in Gypsum, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Thelma (Foraker) Van Hoose. He married Grace Simon on June 11, 1949 and she survives. Mr. Van Hoose worked for Heineman Distributing in Port Clinton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and he was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1610, Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 2295, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars all of Port Clinton. Surviving are his wife: Grace; son: Keith (Mary) Van Hoose of Port Clinton; daughters: Denise (Rob Fleenor) Ambrozy of Port Clinton, Julie Reifsnyder of Cincinnati, Karen (Art) Garza of Port Clinton; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son: Mick E. Van Hoose; sister: Grace Johnson; brothers: Eugene, Warnie, Jim and Paul "Hook" Van Hoose. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, March 17, 2014 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Ottawa County or to Stein Hospice.
