Clinton O. Harder, 72, of Graytown, OH died September 5, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born September 14, 1943 in Limestone, OH to the late Lawrence F. and Wilma F. (Myerholtz) Harder. He was a 1961 graduate of the former Harris- Elmore High School where he was quite the athlete playing football, basketball, and running track. He was offered a football scholarship to the University of Miami, FL. Clint first worked at the former Myers Super Market in Rocky Ridge, OH as a meat cutter, then was employed at Chrysler in Perrysburg but retired in 2010 as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Benton- Carroll- Salem School District, Oak Harbor. He loved his family. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's athletic events and watching them as they came over to grandpa's house to swim and riding the golf cart. He enjoyed cooking and was quite a handyman who could fix anything, he never said no to anyone and was always willing to lend a hand. He attended both St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore, and an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Survivors include his children: Jacki (Mike) Gezo of Graytown, Jay (Francine) Harder of Graytown, Jennifer (Scott) Gordon of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Abbie & Alex Gezo, Josh, Riley, Jayden & Chase Harder, Devyn, Cadyn & Tenlyee Gordon; special friend Joanne Price of Graytown; grand-dog Fritz; former wife Joanne (Hetrick) Harder of Oak Harbor; brother- in- law David Zimmerman of Graytown, and sister- in- law Glennis Harder of Martin, OH; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Merle, Gerald, and Dennis Harder and sister Twila Zimmerman. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8pm and again from 9am-8pm Thursday with the family present on Thursday from 10am-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 12pm Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor with the Rev. Cheryl Wessel officiating. Burial in Limestone Cemetery will take place privately at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, St. Paul Lutheran Church, or Graytown Park. The family would like to thank hospice nurses Cindy (aka Shelly) and Joanne for all of their kindness and compassion toward Clint and the family during their time together. The family would also like to invite friends to the Oak Harbor Community Market Hall (aka VFW Hall) for a time of fellowship following the service on Friday.
