Clayton J. Stager

Clayton J. Stager, 84, of Bluefield, WV, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, Ohio. He was born on June 13, 1924 in Marine City, MI, a son of the late Fredrick & Marion (Goulette) Stager. On February 9, 1945, he married the former Dolores Mae Hoshal, who preceded him in death. Clayton was a retired lineman for Northern Ohio Telephone Company and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8732, Oak Harbor. He is survived by his sons, Robert C. Stager, Oak Harbor, Ohio Scott A. Stager, Clyde, Ohio; daughter, Sheryl Jo (Thomas) Farris, Oak Harbor; sister, Florine Thorson, Bottineau, ND; 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Clayton was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Stager, and sister, Autumn Houghton. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post #8732.
