Clarence Paul Ninke, 91, formerly of Elmore, OH died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Genoa Care Center, Genoa, OH. He was born June 30, 1920 in Elmore, OH to the late Reinhart W. and Julia E. (Avers) Ninke. He married Phyllis Poggemeyer on June 26, 1943, in Pemberville, Ohio. He lived his whole life in Elmore, working 36 years for Jaeger Hardware and Brush Wellman. Clarence was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Clarence and Phyllis enjoyed spending winters in Winter Haven, FL. He loved spending time with his family and giving giant bear hugs. He was a member of the Harris-Elmore Fire Department for 25 years and never hesitated to help anyone at any time. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Ninke of Genoa, OH; three children: James (Diane) Ninke of Maumee, OH, David (Deanna) Ninke of Oak Harbor, OH, and Kathryn (James) Stroupe of Marion, OH; six grandchildren: Timothy, Kathleen, Tricia, Brian, Matthew, and Laura; and ten great-grandchildren: Rachel, Maren, Lindsay, Victoria, Alexandria, Tyler, Trent, Brielle, Carson, and Cody. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore- Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm Friday, December 16, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, with the Rev. Stephen Lutz officiating. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery.
