Clarence I. DeTray, age 77, of Delaware, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in the emergency room at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born February 25, 1930 in Rollersville, Ohio to Emery and Pearl (Heckman) DeTray. He resided in Delaware County since 1959 and was owner of Delaware Plumbing and Piping, Inc. from 1968-1988. He was a member of the Delaware Bible Church and the Pemberville Masonic Lodge since 1953. He enjoyed his grandchildren, collecting and driving his fifteen antique cars and playing cards with his wife, Nancy and friends. He wintered in North Ft. Myers, FL. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Nancy; his children, sons, Clarence Lee (Kay) DeTray and Lynn DeTray all of Oak Harbor, Ohio; daughter, Lisa (Rob) Smith of Delaware; step-son, Greg (Teri) Ufferman of Quakertown, PA; and step-daughters, Becky (Frank) Book of Ostrander and Debbi (Mark) Drum of Delaware; a sister, Mary Brognard of Defiance, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Emery, Jay, Fred, Bob, Harold DeTray and an infant brother; and a sister, Ethel Shock. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4-8pm at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 West Winter Street, Delaware, OH. A private graveside service and interment will be in Oller Cemetery. A memorial service will be Wednesday, 7pm at the Delaware Bible Church, 45 Belle Ave. with Pastor Marvin Hintz officiating.
