Chester A. Alexander, Sr., 81, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1928, in North Baltimore, Ohio, the son of Forest and Ona (Bomer) Alexander. He graduated from Wakeman High School in 1946, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in the Army Air Corps. Chester worked as a millwright for Ford Motor Company in Sandusky for 37 years until his retirement in 1996. He was a former member of the Sandusky Eagles; Bay View Moose Lodge; Sandusky American Legion; and Marblehead VFW Post #7572. His hobbies included: welding, tinkering out in his barn, playing pool, and owning quarter horses. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, but his greatest love was dancing. Survivors include his wife: Betty (Kihlken) whom he married on October 3, 1980; sons: Chester A. (Dorothy) Alexander, Jr., and Charles A. Alexander, both of Norwalk, OH; and Shawn Alexander, of Sandusky, OH; daughters: Sharon Nead, of Bellevue, OH; Victoria (Mike) Patterson, of Norwalk, OH; and Tracy Alexander, of Gibsonburg. OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers: Jack (Marilyn) Alexander, of Florida; Marvin (Anna) Alexander, of Sylvania, OH; Melvin Alexander, of Michigan; sisters: Emma (John) Rollins, of Cleveland, OH; Helen Kraft, of Norwalk, OH; Shirley (Ralph) Griffin, and Barb (Tom) Uliczny, both of Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
