Charlotte R. Baldwin

Charlotte R. Baldwin, 92, of Oak Harbor, OH died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Cottage Cove, Oak Harbor. Charlotte was born on July 27, 1913, a daughter of Charles and Anna (Miller) Schlunz. On March 14, 1936, she was married to Nelson G. Baldwin at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death in December of 1983. Charlotte graduated from Oak Harbor High School and attended Davis Business College in Toledo. She was a life time active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and belonged to its Deborah Circle. She was a 50 year member of the former Oak Harbor Chapter #131 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and worked in the Oak Harbor Election Board for over 25 years. She was active in Senior Citizens programs and was a life member of Riverview Auxiliary. She lived her life simply as a homemaker, but those who knew her were certainly changed by her wisdom and deeply influenced by her unshakable faith in God. She will live on as a shining example of courage and strength to her family and friends. Survivors include her sons: William (Mary Lou) of Toledo, Gary (Jean) of Lancaster, OH, Dave (Carolyn) of Oak Harbor and Carl (Karen) of Blissfield, MI, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 20 step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Including her parents, her husband, Charlotte was also preceded by her brother Carl Schlunz of Toledo and sister Louella Everson of Bellevue, OH. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor where Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 6, 2006 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Those planning an expression of sympathy may pay tribute to Charlotte through contributions to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
