Charles Zivkovic, 93, of Marblehead, Ohio died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on July 9, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Marian and Rose (Komljenovic) Zivkovic. On June 19, 1944 he married Dorothy Whitty and she preceded him in death on December 21, 1973. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, having served our country during World War II. He was an Insurance Agent working for Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company, serving clients in Canton, Elyria, and Ottawa County, until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, as well as the Camp Perry Shooting Club. His hobbies included skeet shooting, hunting, diving, fishing, and boating. Survivors include his daughters: Judith Maher, Marblehead and Nancy Covairt, Waxahachie, Texas; son: Steven Zivkovic, Forrest Hill, Maryland; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sons: Charles M. Zivkovic and Thomas Zivkovic; and sisters: Ann Hayes, Marie Huntress, and Nora Robitaille. Per Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead from 9:30am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am with Father Daniel J. Ring officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danbury Township Fire Department, or to Stein Hospice.
